Way Too Much Information

My name is Anastacia, but you can call me Stacey. I also have the usual array of colourful internet handles, like Princess Stacey, Sheerchaos, and The Anathematrix. "Ma'am" always works too.

I live by my wits in Boston's Jamaica Plain. I'm generally unemployed, or I suppose you'd call me a freelancer. I do all kinds of things, and I get paid for some of them. In this way I manage to maintain what I can only refer to as a postmodern bohemian lifestyle. I do manage to keep pretty busy, but Im usually looking for new opportunities, so please, feel free to get in touch and hire me right away! Im good with web design and graphics, I can draw illustrations and Im a published writer.

In the past Ive been a house painter, a substitute teacher, a Macintosh system engineer, a picture framer, a computer game designer, a public speaker, a trans-issues educator, and other things as well. I currently do a lot of freelance web page editing.

My writing appears in a number of anthologies that are currently on the shelves, and more are on the way. I've performed my poems at spoken word events around the Boston area.

I'm a reasonably experienced public speaker. Ive given hundreds of trainings, orientations and lectures for a wide diversity of groups- Mostly "transgender 101" talks, but sometimes they get more interesting. I've been a featured speaker at a variety of Public events. I've been intvited to speak at anti-war rallies and gay right's marches. I was the MC of the Boston 2003 Dykemarch.

I have developed some websights for community projects, including butchdykeboy.com and lesbianavengers.org - and of course, this small one for myself.

I like to be involved in my community. I have served on the Board of Directors of Speakout (Boston's Premiere Queer Speaker's Bureau) and the Board of Directors of Sojourner (America's last great Feminist newspaper).

I've been a part of out the Boston Dyke March Committee for the last five years or so. I've also been Femme Mommie to the Boston Lesbian Avengers for more years than I can count.

I am, all in all, a bit of a geek. I am slowly working on my collection of bad Atomic-Horror movies from the 1950s and I own a lot more comics books than I care to admit.

For the last year or two, Ive been spending a lot of my time learning (more or less) to draw, which has livened up my websites a bit, and when I can, i love to write and draw my own comic books.
